Partnering
Eby Construction is a recognized leader in the construction industry, having repeatedly received nationally AGC Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Awards including the 2003 award for our role on the University of Texas at Austin Parking Garage South project. Winning projects epitomize the principles of partnering, including teambuilding, improved communications, conflict resolution, and delivery of quality to the jobsite. Eby integrates partnering principles on all of our projects, both public and private. We are convinced that teambuilding using the partnering process benefits all parties in the construction process. What is partnering? Partnering is a process of identifying issues and goals for a project to reduce communication barriers that may lead to misunderstandings between the key players in the construction process -- owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Partnering encourages "win/win" working relationships. Everyone who has a stake in the project has an opportunity to voice their corporate values, project objectives, and concerns up front. Representatives functioning as a team identify and solve problems that will move them toward the shared goals of a successful project. Benefits to the Project Owner ● Reduced exposure to litigation through open communication and issue
resolution strategies. We have found that implementing partnering agreements has improved the construction experience for everyone involved - owner, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers alike - without increasing costs. In fact, we are seeing a reduction in costs, which gives us a competitive advantage and adds value to the project. Eby's top management is committed to integrating partnering on all of our projects. |
