Andover Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
Location: Andover, KS Owner: Andover Surgery Center Architect: GLMV ArchitectureThe Andover Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is a single story 14,800 SF surgery center, which was built as an addition to the existing Kansas Medical Center. The buildings are connected by a new 75’ corridor between structures. The facility was designed to perform basic elective surgeries on both adult and pediatric patients. The ASC consists of six Operating Rooms, six Pre-Op Rooms, and nine Post-Op Rooms. For safety and comfort of the patients, the adult and pediatric pre-op and post-op patients can be separated.
The building features a large clerestory structure to add daylighting to the nurse station as well as the pre-op and post-op corridors. Another unique feature is the separate discharge exit, which allows patients to leave following surgery without going through the waiting room.
