Sedgwick County Zoo Beastro

Sedgwick County Zoo’s original “Beastro” was built in 2007 and was operated by the zoo.  In 2019, Sedgwick County Zoo decided to contract with SSA for management of their food service operations. Since the existing facility was growing outdated and in need of a refresh, SSA decided to undertake a remodel of the food court and dining areas.

Eby was hired as the design-builder and hired GLMV Architects to do the design. The new concept provided for a much more open and modern feel. Electronic ordering stations were added in addition to traditional staffed ordering stations, to help alleviate lines and waiting. A new Italian pizza oven was installed as the centerpiece of the new kitchen operations. The total design and remodel was completed in just 3 months.
